Introducing Metro Sessions Online

Square

It’s hard to enter 2020 without thinking about clear vision, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the vision for Metro Sessions. The goal for this funny project has always been to create an online destination that reached into LA’s creative scenes. We started with the Sunday livestream, of course, and moved into Metro Sessions Events last fall. Metro Sessions events and livestreams have now featured more than 150 DJs, musicians, artists, chefs, stylists, designers, and botanists. It’s time to move to the next step, to tell the stories of the many creative people we’ve gotten to know and have yet to meet. And that’s where Metro Sessions Online is coming in, starting right now.

So what does that actually mean? What can you expect? To begin with, you’ll see more regular posts here on the website, things you can read and watch. For now, the posts will fit into three areas:

  • Features and Interviews, including stories, photo essays, artwork, articles, profiles, etc.
  • The Block where we will focus on the L.A. music scene, including upcoming shows, music reviews, party profiles, local DJ residencies, livestreams, etc.
  • Vaulted Vinyl, my personal favorite. Every month, we will issue a standard list of questions for a local record collector to answer. Then, a photographer and an interviewer will visit the collection and record an interview with the collector.

We’ve got work from an amazing set of writers and photographers, starting with a photo essay from Jordan Mendez. We’ll be celebrating the launch for Metro Sessions 22 this Sunday, January 5th at 7 pm. Please join us! (This show features DJs who are new the scene, some of whom will be doing their very first set. It’s dope.)

Want to get involved? That would be rad. You can email us at home@metrossions.live with post ideas, guest post inquiries, Vaulted Vinyl participation, whatever is on your mind. You can also hit us up on Instagram.

Otherwise, keep an eye out here or on Instagram or Facebook for the new content. Thanks for keeping up with us and being part of our community! We are one lucky livestream. 🙂
